Cover my eyes and tell me lies
Beautiful sweet sounds of lies and deceit
We both know its too much for you to bring around the truth
And you can never put it so eloquently as your non-truths
So please, continue to spout the chocolate covered dislocated rhymes of this times foul up
Just continue to be gentle with it
In your honey ripe voice of reason
And feed it to me in a silver spoon,
Laced with arsenic
Because I want to die with this feeling of mistrust rooted deep in my heart
Because it will be the only memory I will have of you,
The only memory I will ever need of any thing.

Author's Comments

This one started a bit differently. Our poetry teacher had someone read one of their poems to us and we had to pick out one line from that poem that we liked and write off of it. I chose the line "Cover my eyes and tell me lies." from a friend's fiance's poem. Now this is one of those poems that sounds better in the spoken form, so if you want to read it out loud to yourself or whatever that would be pretty sweet. This is also about someone I once knew, no I will not say who, I don't think any of you know them so, its pointless anywho. Hope you guys like it.
